In Tim OBriens excerpt from The Things They Carried, we ar given a story and perspective of a character, snappy lemon tree, the uncivil soldier. In that last paragraph the narrator relates the story of when pithy Lemon fainted merely from being in the presence of a dentist. We are given both the narrators interpretations and the docu mentary education of the story, as we see them in three parts, the action, the contemplation, and the reconciliation. At the number 1 of the final paragraph, Curt is being displace up reach the ground by four men onto a cot, and when he comes excessively, the narrator describes him as having a erratic new wait on his face, almost sheepish, as if he had committed or so terrible crime.
