Analysis of THE FLEA by John Donne John Donne was one of the striking metaphysical poets of the 17th century. His poetry was full of self-assertions and highly grueling images. The main themes of his works was lust, passionateness and religion. The Flea appears to be a venerate poem. This poem presents the feeling of lust through the metaphysical conceitedness of the flea as a kindleual union, a marriage adjourn and a marriage temple. In the first stanza of the poem, the speaker develops similarities amongst the fleabite and lovemaking. The speaker of the poem is male. Because Donne is male, and because this process of convincing is generally associated with men.
