Analysis of THE FLEA by John Donne John Donne was one of the striking metaphysical poets of the 17th century. His poetry was full of self-assertions and highly grueling images. The main themes of his works was lust, passionateness and religion. The Flea appears to be a venerate poem. In the first stanza of the poem, the speaker develops similarities amongst the fleabite and lovemaking. The speaker of the poem is male.
